"This book is about six couples at a luxurious holiday resort. All is 5* fine wine, dinning and luxury until….the wife of one of the couples is murdered…..But who did it?
The main story is about Lucy, the ex-wife of the honeymooning couple at the resort. She has a very strange kind of relationship with her ex and new partner, as in they are frenemies, unbeknown to Lucy, who is trying her best and succeeding in her eyes to get along with her ex and his fiancé for the sake of their child.
So who murdered the new wife? And why did the husband not notice his wife being murdered right behind his back?
Well it couldn’t be one of the other guests, as they all have the perfect alibi “they were all together having dinner”.
This is the first book I have read by Sophie Hannah, I found this book got me asking questions and thinking a lot about who could have done it and the motives behind the murder. The problem is that I’m a detail oriented person who likes for things to add up and I found the conclusion a little lacking in imagination. But I’m sure we have all read a book in which we feel we could have written a better ending, or thought it would of been better if it ended differently.
I would recommend this book to lovers of crime/ thriller novels if you want an easy read that you don’t want or need to think too much about."
