It's three a.m., and Elizabeth Gilbert is sobbing on the bathroom floor. She's in her 30s; she has a husband, a house and they're trying for a baby - but she doesn't want any of it. This is a hilarious travelogue and a quest for spiritual enlightenment in the face of natural scepticism.

Maybe it's just me, but this book is sooo overrated. A woman is wounded by the end of her marriage and so she seeks solace in a year of self improvement...she goes to Italy and learns to cook and nourish herself, she goes to India and she gets all spiritual and then she goes to Bali and er, meets a man...seriously, I threw this book across the room when I realised I had waited the whole book to see if she developed as a person, and what she discovered was the answer to all her problems was another man! Get a life.
