Plymouth Libraries are free to join and you can use any of the 11 libraries in the city. Here is a list of all the things you can do with your library membership:

  • borrow a Microbit and learn about coding

  • enhance your knowledge with access to a wide selection of digital resources from Oxford University Press, including English Dictionaries and biographies
  • view our local newspaper collection on Microfilm at Central Library - the earliest edition we have is the Plymouth Weekly Journal from 1721
  • research the rich history of our city and surrounding areas with our local history collections
  • explore our vast Naval History collections
  • research your family tree with access to Find My Past, Ancestry Library Edition and British Newspaper Archive websites in any library
  • access over 1.5 million academic articles with Access to Research
